Current condition on Sprague Lake
The snow was so soft Saturday morning that each step was sometimes a waist-deep hole. I dragged myself toward the edge of the lake, set up the tripod, and the rest of the time I just stood there and waited (and kept cleaning the lens!). The fog seemed to mute all the sounds except from the curious ducks that happily explored the newly thawed water. C&C welcome.

Canon 5D Mark II + EF 17-40mm f/4L. 26mm 1/800sec at f/8, ISO3200 (to capture the snow flakes and the ducks).

Nice and moody shot Tien-Chien. How cold was it up there?

Nice comp, nice moment, nice mood. I like the snowflakes caught on the way down.

Bert, it was actually not cold as long as you kept yourself dry.

Sounds like about as much snow as I remember from last week on the trail, but the lake has thawed though. I like the ducks and snowflakes.

1/800th? Those ducks and flakes must be moving faster than usual! Nice mood shot.

Like the comp and the mood here as well. The snow along the shore line provides a nice fg subject.

Like Joshua said, the lake sure has thawed over the past two weeks.

Looks cold. I like the inclusion of the snow in the foreground. I agree that it has a nice mood feel.
