Nuthatch
Another from my temporary/interim feeding station.

Just playing around really.

Not a species I really expected, but still a pleasant surprise, as the site is relatively open, with none what you would call mature trees around. And yes it was taken at 1/10 of a second.

Taken from a car converted into a hide, 200-400 @ 350mm f/4, 1/10 sec @ f4, tripod mounted, electrical cable release (MC-20) used. PP in CS2. Full Frame, but flipped horizontally.

Here you go Ray, have a comment on me, for a 1/10th at 350mm it's not too shabby, it's a little central and needs a little lift on the levels side of things, but still a nice capture.

Best regards

Andy...

Agree about the levels but shows a Nuthatch nicely in a different environment. Not sure about that dark banding in the BG, a ploughed field perhaps?

A well detailed good looking bird in nice surroundings.
Would like to see it a bit brighter & less central
Nice capture.

This is another image Ii keep coming back to. Nits have been covered allready especially the need for some gamma raising,,but I feel the background is a little cluttered especially around the birds bum.The other thing that seems odd is the apple blossom and leaves. They appear to be flagging ? And I still dont understand the "flipping". You mean "mirroring surely ?
Was the branch introduced ? Slightly different Nutty pose anyway.

Ray It's a very nice shot, nice to see one away from the bark of a tree. Nits or not I'd like it. I'm guessing the brown strip is the gap between fence bars.

Well Done. :toast:

Certainly a different shot of a Nuthatch and for that reason a welcome change.
Bit clutterd but so what. :toast:
