Made in the Shade
This was taken on Sunday morning in the Cummins Creek Wilderness just South of Cape Perpetua on the Central Oregon Coast. The Trilliums were everywhere, but I particularly liked this one because of its position which was in a shady little alcove where a small waterfall entered the stream. This is damn near straight out of the camera, although I blended two exposures for increased DOF. Both shots were taken sequentially at f/13, .4 sec, iso100, and focused with live view for accuracy.

Comments and thoughts appreciated.

The flower makes this work, but I don't like all the empty space in the LRC and above the flower. Maybe moving the flower closer to center would have cleared that up.

Nice processing. I like it cropped just above the bush in the woods, or the best, just above the rocks for the flower and the creek. :)

Nice idea Aaron, there is much to like here. Too bad the bottom isn't filled out more - my main issue.

Love the far and near, but agree that the distance between them is too much. I think Bryan's idea is a good one, especially moving closer to the flower so that it is a larger part of the photo.

That trillium is about as perfect a specimen as I have ever seen and nicely isolated enabling clean views of it. So, while I think this shot is decent, a touch of separation between the trillium and the greenery underneath it would be nice. And I would make it more of the star of the show in your composition if that was possible. Wow, what a beauty it is! Nice find.
