Beautiful shot Phil, really like the comp on this image and the detail throughout is great, right down to the spiders web among the thorns and leaves. I guess if I had to mention something very minor indeed it would be that little ( I mean little) dark area touching his 'white throat' just under the bill. A relic of processing? Otherwise a fine image indeed.

This is a super shot, Phil. The vertical format suits the subject (or more specifically, what the subject is perching on). The one minor nit for me is that I would like to see a little more space on the left of the frame for the bird to look into.

I,ll go with that Little more space left- or the whole thing less tight in the frame.
Good shot Phil.

A superb image Phil, Nice sharp details with an excellent perch and the bird stands out well against the bg. Not a conventional comp for a bird in this pose but it still works.
an A1 image.

Excellent shot Phillip, great framing too, I think the contrast could be increased slightly but thats a very minor nit.

Thats a classic looking shot and very nicely done to.
Not easy to finish up with an unclutterd shot on one of these birdys. :toast:

Cracking shot Phil, great composition. The slight backlighting is nice. Like David I'd like a tiny bit more space on the left, but to get the tip of that leaf in rather than for the bird to look into.

Very nice Phil, well seen.

I didn't realise until now that we don't live too far apart if Marton Mere is close to home.

Cheers
