I don't know what precipitated it but over the past few weeks I have been emptying my snail mail box and my email box full of offers for representation of my photography. Ever the sinic, I investigated all of these offers and most come from places referred to as Vanity Galleries.

I have an article by a well respected Artist representative that I thought many of you might find interesting and for those who are thinking of trying your hand at sending your work to a Chelsea New York Gallery for representation. I think this will be the sort of "Buyer Beware" thing you might need.

I hope this helps.

Hey, if you pay me a mere $5,000, i will hang your work in my outdoor gallery in Pueblo West. I promise that your work will be seen by at least 100,000 individuals--that is my personal gaurantee!*

*"individuals" may refer to potential buyers as well as prairie dogs, antelope, and rabbits.

Interesting article. I would never pay anyone to show my work, even if it was (it's not) worthy of showing. Having said that, I have several photos I'd like to consider hanging in you outdoor gallery, Stan.
