It was a great pleasure meeting all the new folks, and getting to visit with others last weekend at Rod's cabin. Thanks to everyone that contributed to the event. I'm already looking forward to a fall shooting extravaganza...
I thought I would post shots of the largest and second largest shelter bluffs in Arkansas. The first is, of course, Cob Cave, and the second Indian Rockhouse. That's where I went to try for my wild turkey shot, but came up empty-handed. It was quite a drive from Lost Valley, but I was able to hit the woods by 5:15 for the pre-dawn shot shown here. These places seem to have a special appeal to me this time of year.
Hey watch it Tim! Haha! The turkeys may have not worked out for you Bill, but the caves were well worth it. I've shot Cob several times and they never turned out near as good as yours. Very Good!

Good work on both of these Bill. I like that you've held some detail in the shadows in the first shot and I like the symmetry in the second. Haven't been to either one but I appreciate you taking me there. Thanks for all you did to make the Spring Gathering a success!

Bill, these both turned out great. As Wayne mentioned the detail in the shadows is just the correct amount to go with the greens of the trees. I believe your comment on Sunday that Cobb Cave is about the size of a football field is correct.

Bill,
As usual you've created a superior photograph.
Thanks for continuing to challenge us.
Beautiful images Bill...Great exposure on both counts...I have shot Cob several times, but have never made it there that early in the morning...It is stunning! The light created is pheonomenal. Great job keeping the shadows with some detail...It was a pleasure to meet you this weekend. You are a gifted photographer and I look forward to knowing you and your work a little better. K

This is good stuff! I love the way the shelter walls and ceiling provide the framing for the green of the new forest growth. I would be proud to hang either one on my wall.
It was great to meet you this past weekend Bill. I only wish we could have chatted more; hoefully we can in the fall.
Obviously the pre-dawn light helped balance the exposure. These are really excellent images Bill. As usual, your processing and color are perfect. Great job!
Both images are really beautiful. The light and colors of greens are really lovely. Funny I have been out of town and haven't seen your post but was at cob cave last night an shot one very similar.
