Photo of a lone puffin looking out to sea on the cliffs at bempton, the light was poor, but loved how this puffin was just sitting there, alone, looking out to sea.

Thats a nice shot Craig and I can see your thinking about the comp, putting the puffin up there on the 1/3rds, so it works for me, the only thing I would have liked was if the bird had turned its head a little so there was some eye contact, but thats just me and maybe this was the effect you wanted, nice shot all the same

Thanks andy, really wanted the head turn but not to be, really happy with this though because as you know from being there its hard to get good shots of them at bempton, and with this shot i've tryed to portray the harsh enviroment there, hope your well and busy photographing, Thanks
Another goody... head turn mentioned (you must start paying them more to do as they are told ) super comp...

I wish phil I'm learning from photographing wildlife that just when you want something,to happen/ it does'nt, when you're not hoping and just packing up , 'it happens' , and there was no dandling dani, thanks for your comments everyone
Looks good to me, and I like the comp you have chosen here

Hi Craig,
Superb shot, I know how difficult Bempton is for Puffins.

I thought that only happens to me !!!! Good to know someone else has the dreaded "pack kit away jinx" or the classic sit and wait for 4 hours and nothing shows then when you have to leave, because you told the better half you would be home at a certain time, what you were waiting for come out to play !!!!

Well they couldnt resist coming back for more Craig. That empty space does work but you still havn't given away your dangling secret.

Thanks everyone, over 300 viewings must be a fault?, no dangling secret major, as you approach the cliffs, turn left and walk away from the main 'drag' the puffins nest more there sit and wait and you'll see them fly in, I tryed very hard to not include any of the surrounding cliff edge's in my picture and I think I did ok, I love the picture and thanks everyone
I recognise the perch Craig from when I visited a couple of weekends ago. I think you have done a very good job. It is probably the same bird as mine was camera shy as well!
The background really helps the puffin stand out. Well positioned and composed.
