Kingfisher
Was out trying to catch up to a wood duck and this guy dropped by. I have been trying to get one to slow down or stop for quite a while. I know it is not a great shot but it gives me hope that some day I will be able to get a better one. I did get a woody and also a Pileated Woodpecker that I will post later.

I hear ya Kendall. These birds are hyper little things. I also waited 40 minutes or so for one to land on a limb I predetermined and never landed on it. Fascinating specimens and just look and that beautiful fishing beak. Love to watch them fish. Nice shot btw

Nice catch. I find it almost impossible to get a shot of one of these.

It's great to get a good look at one of these birds. Thanks for sharing the image, Kendall.

I know these birds are very skittish, and usually fly off as soon as they know you're there. Good job getting as close as you did. My guess is he was gone shortly after this shot was taken.

Nice capture of this illusive species, Kendall. I usually hear these guys more than I see them.
