When are vineyards at the most photogenic? It's not my usual thing, but I might be including something on them in a project I'm working on. I think I've scene some nice images with fall colors? What month is that usually.. so I can plan on it? Thanks!
I can't speak for all wine regions but up here in the Sonoma area I'd say September is probably a good time. Depending on weather conditions for the year it could start early or late, but I think September is a good rule of thumb. The colors can be fantastic with a mix of red, green, yellow, and gold. There is one vineyard that I pass on my way to work that just rolls over these neat little hills looks awesome as the leaves turn color. Unfortunately, it's all on private property. Just gotta get permission I guess! Good luck on your endeavors...
Definitely looks like it. The vineyard is on the west side of 101 just a hair south of Cotati. I've seen a few sunrises cast light on clouds over the vineyard during autumn and literally drooled as I drove by!
Yup! That is the place. I too have had my eye on it. Awesome spot. If you click on the photo again, there is a link to "find location"... that shows the location on a google map
I don't know if you've go to do this soon, but as far as I have seen, Spring seems to be the best. I remember many times driving through the wine country in central CA and being blown away by the bright yellow mustard flowers everywhere...
I may be a little late to the party here, but I just finished adding a search feature to my website, which includes the season/month in the description. I only have a few vineyar images, but you can get an idea when would be some good times to photograph vineyards. Now these vineyards are from Livermore in Northern, CA, but I've found excellent autumn vineyard scenes well in to November. September offers good opportunities for "before the harvest" grape clusters. For CA, I think the seasonal changes are pretty consistent up and down the state.

I'm too late but that was my best answer anyhow.
This is one of my EP's taken Sept 06:
