Hi everybody, I am back after a lapse of 2 or 3 years. Here's a Roe Buck taken at a feeding station for Roe which I have fed for the last 8 years as a Gamekeeper and Forester on a private estate in the Yorkshire Dales I have gained the confidence of up to 5 Roe when I arrive within the feeding area on the quad I start whistling and they come running in and stand 12yds from me while I scatter food.I do this religiously same time everyday.
A beautiful subject and I can relate to the thrill of working in such close proximity to these often shy and nervous creatures.
I've been photographing one particular doe for several years and on a couple of occasions she's been that comfortable with my presence that's she's laid down whilst I sat quietly nearby, probably less than eighty feet away. A very memorable and rewarding experience.
Its great to be able to be that consistent in feeding and of course helps to get good results, pic here is maybe a little cluttered with the tree and bracken for me, keep it going though.
