I shot this in the Hocking Hills region a couple weeks ago, and entered it in the abstract category for the 'Shoot the Hills' photo competition. It is a sunset swamp/reflection image rotated 90 degrees. I often rotate images in the editing process to look for lines, shapes and forms, and was surprised by the composition when I flipped it - it completely changed the image and I liked the results, so I included it in my final set of images.
I'm curious as to how others view this. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome.
Nice image Brian! It does make a nice abstract. The upper right corner is a bit dark and out of place from the rest of the image, but that is a minor nit. LOL....I have staring at this with my head at 90degree angle from a while now, and I think I prefer the horizontal version personally. Both make nice images, and are refreshing.
I should have read your story before trying to figure out what was happening in the image. Very cool abstract and a nice reminder that a change in perspective is generally a good thing.
This is an interesting abstract, but I have a little problem with my eyes hunting for something to focus on or to try and understand the image. Overall it just confuses me I guess.
Hope that doesn't sound too harsh, I like your idea of trying something new with rotating the image, this one just isn't quite working for me.
This is a wonderful photo and fits the abstact category as defined perfectly. Congratulations on your win.

I had a lot of fun at the competition, and will be back again next year.
