This isn't my best work, but I haven't posted in a long time so I thought I'd throw this up. Friday I used a floating Holiday to get out for a real shooting effort for the first time since my knee surgery in November.

I don't get into Oregon much so I have never seen this vantage point but I sure do like what I'm seeing. My suggestions would be to bump up the contrast a bit and increase the saturation of the lupine.

I agree with Mark. A little more contrast and saturation would be an improvement to an already nice shot. I like the "great wide open" feeling to this. From time to time, the inner kid in me likes to imagine our state as it was before it was filled with too many tourists, cars, urban sprawl, and the hassles that come along with the modern world. This is pretty much what I envision sometimes. Thanks for sharing this one.

Hey Curtis, it's nice to see a post from you. How great you're getting out now and trying the new knee. Hope it's okay now after your adventure.

I really like this shot. Must disagree to bump contrast and sat. This is nice soft color, I like where Hood is in the frame and trailing all the clouds from it to the left, and it's very peaceful. Perhaps just burn the ridge lines a tad bit...? It's beautiful as is.

Curtis,
I like it as is also. It has that vast wilderness feeling to it.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I made a couple small adjustments with a Selective Color layer and posted in ESS.

I like the higher contrast version slightly better than this one. I agree with Catherine about the soft color. I'm thinking I'll probably get both versions printed.

I tried the vertical crop, and although I like the comp it provides, the quality is too degraded for my taste. The 300D is a little noisy at ISO 200, and then cropping that much off the image really kills the quality.
