My first venture to Bempton yesterday following advice .Thanks to Andy Snape for his company on the 3.5 hour trip up and back and to Andy Shepherd for the great banter in the afternoon . We weren't avoiding you honest, great to meet you. A venue I'll be returning to again no doubt, despite the drive. The conditions played havoc with the metering yesterday .My first experience of the gannet greet.

I had experimented , probably wrongly, with a polariser to darken the sea a tadge . Lifted the Mids a bit and gave it a hair cut maintaining the AR .All C/C's welcome.
Cracking image Mark and very nice to meet you yesterday, it was a very enlightening experience for me the repost is the better of the two, a well captured piece of behavior, the next time your coming up this way drop me an e-mail.
You beat me to this one Mark, I think you definately had the best angle.............lol. It does show what you can get out that D3, mine was full of noise!!!
A really nice image with some great interaction between the birds. I prefer the repost but personally I think the image would benefit from the midtones being lifted quite a lot more, both on the grass and the sea in the background.
Thanks all ,especially Andy Astbury, thanks for the call .Justin and Mark TY. I have tried to pull the mids up a tadge more without the blue of the sea breaking up too much but not much luck .The insert polariser on the lens may have been an overkill .The grass NP , but the blue sea gets messy.Probably right idea wrong execution , so I will go back for another go .

Can you lower the contrast a bit in processing matey - you need to lift the midtones a bit
