Been experimenting at Gigrin with slower shutter speeds.

Was hoping that when I went the other day that there would have been more leaf coverage on the tree, but not to be.

1/80th @ f/5

Just lucky to get one without wing tags.

Cheryl, i really like what you were trying to do here and you have succeded well in keeping the head sharp and the wings blurred, could be improved if the kite was facing you a bit more great BG nicely done!

It's a very difficult ask to keep the head sharp at these sort of shutter speeds, so you've done well, I not sure if this comp suits the image, but thats just a personal taste thing, nice shot Cheryl.

I did crop to squarer in another version, but could not decide which I personally preferred.

Would be easier to get the kite facing camera more if there had been coverage on the trees, as it was this was shot looking down at the field from the top hide. Maybe if I get back later in the year then I'll be able to shot against the trees as planned.

Thanks for the feedback.

Looks great to me! Head sharp, nice blur. Agree a slightly different crop would be good. Background looks great as it is.

You said you were after this and it is very nicely done Cheryl. An unusual shot from above as well. I'll keep an eye out for the one with the fuzzy wings next weekend.

Great, at least its not a typical gigrin shot. Nice shot with greens and nice wing movement...a little bit different?

Thanks guys.

Eric if you shoot at 1/80th-1/125th then they all have fuzzy wings!
