Common Sandpiper
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/125s, f6.3, iso 200. Overcast, head on wind. Toned down highlight in background.

Had another great weekend at Tummel. Rowed across loch to get deer. Ospreys, merganser, greylag, canada, sandpiper, grey wagtail, swallow, heron, red squirrel, buzzard, treecreeper (nest), mallard, tufties, widgeon, siskin and more. Even salmon jumping from time to time. Should have been sailing but too windy. Not enough time!

Lovely simple shot with the background and perch complementing the bird brilliantly. Top shot.

Super shot Ian - shown beautifully against the BG and the composition is spot on. Sounds like a great place for photography.

Grand shot Ian- positioning just right and I like the small subject approach.

The comp is lovely, with a nice OOF BG, all goes to make a first class picture.

Great shot, love how the feathers on the breast are a bit fluffed up.
