Hi all,

This is one from last spring, I was fortunate enough to hear this newly arrived male churring right next to a path at 10am on a very damp misty morning, spotting him was still a challenge though!! I took five frames and then backed off and left him to it. I have re-cropped this image so many times, wondering whether peeps think this crop is ok.....

Advice and criticism welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Lewis.

What a lucky find Lewis. I real one off. The colouration reminding very much of Wryneck.
Weird birds.

Super find and a lovely image - maybe a tad more space above the bird, but otherwise all has been said :toast:

Thanks guys for the feedback, and to Phil and Graham regarding the crop. At the top of the full frame there is some fresh acidic green bracken and at the bottom another log with bright white OOF fungus. Both really draw the eye, so I think this crop will stay ......for now

Nearly that time of year again Brian!!

Cheers,

Lewis.
