Soaring with Sora's
It's great to have the Ridgefield Refuge back open, the River S auto tour offers a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. This week besides birds, some visitors enjoyed seeing river otters and mink, deer and coyote.
For non-birders, this Sora can be a seldom seen resident usually hanging out in the cattails. Finding one, and having him out in the open can have a bird photographer... "soaring with the Sora's."
Sorry part of the tail was missed, but I'll take what I can get with this bird.

This is a mighty fine image, Craig. Considering how difficult it is to get soras out in the open, or even to see them at all, I don't mind at all the chopping of the tail on the left or the blurred grass in the front bottom.

I like the head angle and the catchlight in the bird's eyes is just right. You sure are on a run lately!

Another fine capture, Craig. You'll make a birder out of me yet.

Wow, you've had some amazing shots this spring of skulkers.
