Female Peregrine
Canon EOS 1Ds MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, G1548, Boat on the river Orwell bobbing about like a cork

Hi All,

I am again this year covering the only known pair of breeding Peregrine's in Suffolk. There are 3 chicks at about 30 days old, that we could occasionaly see in the nest box. Weather was pretty grim on Tuesday, cloudy and drizzle, out of 150 odd shots I have 4 keepers!

All comments welcome

Impressive shooting this girl from a wobbling boat, they are so fast! Great image!

Tremendous shot Rob. You must be a very well coordinated chap to track a speedy peregrine from a rocking boat.

If I got 4 out of 150 of this quality I would be well pleased. Great flight shot.

That's a cracker Rob. I've tried big targets like seals and whales from a boat before, so I can only imagine how difficult this must be!

I really like this. The pale background sets the bird off perfectly. :toast:

Excellent Rob,

We expect your next post to indicate on a boat, one hand behind your back and wearing an eye patch !

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Bobbing or not Rob, a nice shot under difficult circumstances. Agree the BG compliments the bird. :toast:

Hi Rob.

Really good shot and great to see that you have been able to get to grips with Peregrine close to home after all the trecking around the Peak District we did a few years back!

Also just a quick update on the Peregrine's, I was told tonight that on Monday the box was checked and 4 healthy chicks were in there :jump: About 14 days from fledgeing.

Hi Rob :wavey: What a stunning shot, you must be chuffed to bits with this image, I know I would be! A great experience too I bet. Keep up the good work.
