Golden Eagle & New Arrival (cb & wm)
Meet our new arrival :jump:

This is a 4 year old male Golden Eagle that arrived with us last night after being acquired from Eagle Heights in Kent. This beautiful bird will soon be joining our team of birds for certain activities.

Just thought it would be good to share this first image with you all whilst he starts to settle in to his new home.

Thanks for looking :toast:

(cb & wm) in title for captive bred & well mannered

Well thats a handsome chap. I guess he might sort out that over domineering female buzzard that was spooking Leighton the other week.

A big THANK YOU to the above for their supportive comments, very much appreciated indeed :toast: :toast:

He is settling in brilliantly at the moment & is proving to be very steady on the gloved hand & when perched, this I repeat is at the moment anyway. When his body weight reduces for flight training, this might be a completely different situation as I need to take into account their natural behaviour & power when at a low training weight required for flight training. The educational aspects are huge which can bring peoples attention to the conservation of his wild cousins.

For me personally, this is child ambition come true. At the age of seven I dreamed that one day I would be able to train & fly a Golden Eagle. Now I feel the time as come & it feels right, I also feel that I have the experience & most important the commitment to give this beauty a good life.

Hopefully in time, I too might be released from the Centre to take special trips with him to Scotland, this would be for an advanced training program to train him to soar, obviously this would be way in the future & not now.

Thanks for taking the time to view & comment
