Back From Europe
Well you guys have been busy while I was tootling around Switzerland, Italy and England! Spent all of April there mostly with family so all my shots are with a Nikon D200, consumer 18-55 lens and no tripod, in fact no sunsets either! I did take a gorillapod and used it a couple of times. Most of my effort went into spending time with the family and grandkids and filming them so only tourist shots I'm afraid but if you want to see then...

Excellent range of work with one lens, Bill. I love your Lucca rooftops and detail stuff. These are way better than "tourist shots".

Welcome back, Bill. Some very nice "tourist" shots in your gallery.

I'm glad to see at least somebody is trying to help revive the world economy.

Great stuff, Bill. Very enjoyable. Did you get to partake in some liquid grapes?

Welcome home Bill, or is it still??. I really like your Tuscany roof shots!!. Whats with all the advertising boards on the palace by the Bridge of sighs, are they working on it?.

Lots of questions, well re the grapes the "grapejuice" was universally excellent, the food outstanding and the people incredibly warm and helpful. We tested the latter with a car accident on our last day!
Venice is an amazing place and totally unique. The Bridge of Sighs is getting renovated I guess so they have huge advertising signs on the awnings. So many fantastic old buildings and then they hang the ads, ouch! But its still an amazing place.
I took just one lens for weight and to force me to shoot with restrictions and also to avoid family conflicts. I did get scolded from an attendant for shooting in one church when I shouldn't have been.
And the weather was sunny almost every day for a month, good for vacation, bad for filming.
I learned a lot about hand held panos and am encouraged to do more of that.

Some outstanding 'tourist photos' Bill! My fav is the 'Bridge of Sighs' Ahhhh......

I think your work is excellent, especially considering your limitations. The panos really came out good, and I can't pick a favorite as they are all too good.
