Had this stream all to myself this morning as I was up checking on the greenery in the Gorge. My week's vacation the end of May should be excellent based on what I am seeing so far!

Gosh darn it Ned, you are the master of these wide angle forest and falls/stream scenes. I especially like how well you place the ferns, and this is a great example. My own preference would be to enjoy this cropped from the top down to just above the 'y' in the log on the right edge. What do you think?

That lower left quadrant is especially nice with the leaves in the fern. I like Catherine's idea.

I meant to comment on this earlier, and was going to suggest a crop as well. Not quite as much as Catherine's, but just enough to tighten the view and still leave the top of the stream some breathing room. I really like the detail that you've caught in the FG plants. Must have been dead-calm for 8 seconds. Nice shot, "Ferns".

Thanks so much for the input. I like the crop idea, and will go with that when I print. The very top was bothering me as I processed it. It was as still as I have seen the Gorge in many visits, so working on these was wonderful. I was out beating the sun from getting too high, but much prefer the lighting during days of rain and overcast and love shooting on those days. Maybe the end of the month when I am doing my week-long hikes!

Nice stuff, Ferns. I agree with Aaron's crop suggestion.

This is a nice bouquet of green, Ned. I do like the ferns at the bottom. Agree with all of the above.

Now if I can get some time off this weekend...

The large Lace Fern really makes this a gem, Ned. I also agree with the crop idea.

The crop idea was awesome. I printed out an 11x14 for the office and it looks pretty groovy.
