Morning everybody,

I'll be visiting Skomer for three days this coming week, so in the event of poor weather and the boat not being able to sail are there any other good locations in the area, anywhere between Fishguard and Marloes will be in my range.

Cheers

Surely someone on here has been to Skomer or if not knows the surrounding area ???

Don`t really know the immediate area, but the headland opposite Skomer (called `The Deer Park`, I think (there aren`t any deer!)) had a good population of reasonably approachable Choughs when I last went a few years back. Maybe a bit further than you want to travel, but the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Teifi Marshes, Cardigan, can be good for Otters and Kingfishers. The whole area is very scenic, so great if you`re into landscapes.

Many thanks Jeremy, the info is very much appreciated, I'll give The Deer Park a go as I've never seen a Chough, thanks once again.
