Gannet with a fish
Taken last week during the chaos of chumming from the boat. A lot harder than I imagined with the 1DS, as I couldn't just rattle off shots like I could with the 1D, as once you hit buffer lockout on the 1DS, say goodbye to shooting for 10 seconds!

50% crop
1DS MkIII
17-40L
ISO 400
F8 1/2500th

A Gannet shot with a difference a great action capture. Well done.

Cracking action captured very well Tim :wavey:

That write speed seems slow at 10secs to gain room in the buffer - are you using UDMA cards Tim?

Cheers guys,

Andy - I'm using Sandisk Ultra IIIs, I just did a test and once it fills up I get roughly 1-2 shots every 2 seconds until it starts to clear, it takes around 12 seconds for it to fully clear 10 shots and give me back a full buffer.

This is really really nice and kind of reminds me a bit of some of the recent BBC footage from South Africa. I am finding the other gannet to the right underwater a little bit of a distraction...but a very good shot nevertheless.
