Early Mining bee - Andrena haemorrhoa
D300 w. Sigma 150 2.8 & 36mm ext tube
2 x SB-R200 flashes w. diffusers
1/60 @ f16
handheld

Still playing with SB-R200 flash units for insect work. Black bg is perhaps a bit retro but it was a shady area and I needed the dof. There was a double flash reflection on the eye that I have cloned out - otherwide as shot.

a nicely detailed shot Malcolm although I think this might be Andrena haemorrhoa rather than fulva.

A nice close up shot. The dark BG works well with the green leaves & the insects colours.
