A species I have been after since I became interested in odanata some years ago, here in the south east a difficult species to photograph as they are territorial tend to rest in the middle of large low down leaves often with their wings spread rather than parrallel to the body.
Sunday Morning I was pleased to come across this individual posing quite nicely, would have liked a bit more DoF to bring the wings into focus, (a stack was not practical).
that's a nice one Phil and sometimes there's not much you can do about the wings if the damsel has them slightly opened like this. A slight shame about the second leaf in the background which just breaks the profile of the damsel.
Presumably you also have Small Red-Eyed damsels in your part of the world? They're only just reaching the midlands and I've not seen any in my local patches.

Hi,

All the best
