The famous Mesa Arch in Canyonlands NP is the setting for this scene. The early morning glow on the arch and fg rock face create the "window" show casing the distant spires, buttes and LaSal mountains in a primordal haze. A bit different look at an oft photographed arch. (There were only 23 photographers shooting when I made this image).
Nice job controlling the light Wayne. I really like the separation and layered effect caused by the haze. Nice detail in the foreground too...my favorite so far. Keep 'em coming.
Only 23 photographers eh, sounds like an NPN gathering...
Wayne,
I really like your comp here. I feel really lucky ... I went here back in November and total photogs were only 10. 5 of those were a Chinese group including one guy in full cowboy regalia-boots,hat,jeans, shirt, chaps. And he shot a full-size camera with the cloth hood over his head the whole time! It was very nice. I'll try and post my best shot from there in a few days.

Always a challenge to see these popular sites in a different way. I say job well done on this one.

A superb interpretation. Great use of light.
