Feeding time captured this morning. I have been watching this mating pair of bald eagles for several years. Last year they had one eaglet, this year there are three! I love watching all the behavior displayed at and around the nest. I wish I had a little more reach. This image was taken with a 100-400mm L @ 400mm, F/6.3, 1/500sec. I'll be going back for dinner, wish me luck.
Kerry,
Very true! The exposure was difficult due to being back/side (mostly back) lit. Overcast mornings and evenings are best for this location. I just couldn't resist sharing the news. It's great to see a huge comback since the DDT days when sightings were very rare.
Glad you shared the shot. The trees are leaved out enough here now that our local nest is totaly hidden. Even with the backlight you still get the idea.
