Great minds think alike.
And sometimes, even lesser minds like mine and Stan's think alike, too! I never saw Stan this morning, but judging by his pics, we were probably within a hundred yards of each other. Here's a shot of the moon setting over Pikes' summit. So close, yet so freakin' far away! I didn't see any of that pink light Stan mentioned, because I was in the soup except for this brief, few-seconds-long period. He was up a little higher than me apparently. A bit after sunrise, the clouds settled down into the valleys a bit, but stayed put pretty much at the same level until early afternoon. Usually you can kind of follow the fog down as it breaks apart, and get a whole lot of variety along the way. Not so this morning.

I took my last shot at around 1:30pm, and only left because I got bored. The clouds broke apart soon after.

I've got some stuff similar to, and different from, Stan's shots, which I'll post in this thread later. I just got home a little bit ago, and still need to process images.

I hate you Todd!
Yeah, when i saw it there was much more of the summit visible, and some color in the cirrus clouds. At least you got the moon though! I think i saw your truck a mile or so down the road. I went home at 9 am because the show was largely over and i needed to add to the 3 hours of sleep i had.
Dont waste time processing, man, just post the untouched shots like i did, cmon times a wastin'

Todd, I love this shot. It's so simple, original, and has an abstract feel to it.

Hmmmm, even with the labeling, it's a little too minimalist for me.

A couple quick ones, and then it's off to dreamland for me.

More added tomorrow. I'm toast.

All three look great Todd, but #1 could do without the text. I wish I could have taken the day off to play while the fog lifted. BTW, if altitude is an issue for the fog there are a couple 4WD routes on the south side of Pikes Peak that I think you could find interesting once a bit more of the snow melts.

Cool images Todd, very dramatic. I'm looking forward to more of them.

I love your fog/low clouds images! Can't wait to see more! You and Stan are really setting the bar high for fog/clouds images.

All three are great, but the last two made my jaw drop!

I drove through that sunrise kicking myself that I didn't have time to head up RRR. Love the fog/clouds!

Cloud man does it again.

Good stuff, Todd! I like that last one especially, has a very different feel to it.
