First osprey of the year!
Light had gone to be fair by the time this male osprey landed but I quite liked the confounded look on his face as he finished a preening session. Taken from a hide in a river bed where this bird often uses a particular perch.

Canon 1dIIn, 500mm, ISO320.

Hi Pete

Nice to see a different shot of a well photographed bird.
Love the expression and I'm guessing the water droplets after he had shaken?
Almost 3d in appearance,brilliant!!

Very nice, you sure he's not just ruffled because you interrupted his private preening moment :toast:

What? No mush or mist?

Superb shot. To get that pose on that perch against that background is just brilliant. You've raise the bar on standards here!

It looks drunk, strange expression, feathers ruffled and precariously perched. Was this river bed in Glasgow?

The colour in the eyes is fantastic.

Hello Peter.

What a cracking capture.

I've seen that pose many a time when I've walked through the door, much later than I said I would have been.
