Springtime in the Rockies
It's a great time of year---In our valley at 6,900 feet, the aspens and yellow stem willows are just starting to bud and leaf out and the colors are a yellow green that are very intense. This is a group of such aspens late yesterday with Sleeping Giant in the background.

A closeup of the aspen leaf just emerging has that combination of color.

Meanwhile, the yellow stem willows are showing a distinctive yellow green and it's a time when you can also see the branches of the trees....

You can even follow the flower bloom up in altitude, this group of glacier lilies among the gambel oak at about 7,500 ft. yesterday.

Good stuff, Rod! I don't care for the second one, but the others are cool. On that first one, if you could tame that over-exposed bright spot up in the sky, that one would rate a 10. Right now it's only a 9.8.

Don't you just love the lime green of the springtime aspen buds and leaves? You've certainly captured it well here. I see the glacier lilies haven't lost their intensity in your region either. Nice.

Nice series, and that first one is just wonderful!
Fix that spot and you're ready to roll. Was this taken from your backyard?

The first and third are my favorites. Nice job. I really enoy the extra green greens of spring.

One day you wake up and it just shouts SPRING IS HERE! I love that Apen leaf detail.

That first one really screams spring. Good work.

Those are great. I love this time of year. I went driving around last weekend with my sister and her fiance' in the wet mountain area, and the aspens were starting to bud out. Such intense color, it was beautiful. Nice pics, I love the 1st one.

#1 and #3 are excellent Rod. Nice work. I'd love to see glacier lilies like that sometime.

The colors of Spring are almost more of a favorite for me than Autumn. Love those baby greens with the branches showing through, especially in the golden hours. The first is my favorite with the bright spot in the sky gone.
