Hello everyone. This is my second post. I headed out to Rowena for sunrise on this day and was greeted with partly cloudy skies...until the storm over Portland rolled in just before the sun rose. I had to stop by Wyeth on my way home just so I didn't leave empty handed. I used a breathe on the lens technique that I originally learned from Jesse Estes, and I think he came across it by accident. I know it's a pretty typical technique, but I have only used it a few times. I appreciate your feedback on my processing and the composition, and anything else you wish to recommend.

I like the general idea of this effect but I do think that there's a just a little too much "breath" on the lens at least in the upper portion of the image. I also would like to see a little more room on the left. Good choice of shutter speed for the water effect.

The distortion in this image approaches that of a LensBaby. It does add an interesting sort of glow in the bg, but I think it looks a little strange because it only affects the one area of the frame. Sure like how the water looks in the fg. Hope you keep pushing the envelope, though. Not only is it fun, but sometimes the results are unexpectedly

I like the comp very much, too bad the breath is uneven. Still, a very compelling image.

Thanks, all, for your suggestions. I haven't used this technique much, but I will keep your advice in mind for future attempts.

I almost really like it the way it is. Just off enough to catch your attention and to keep you looking. A little more less breath on the top and its there. :)
