A very windy day at Snettisham had this grey plover seeking shelter. Not the best shot in the world, but hopefully one that salvaged something from a day that offered little.
Maybe its not the best shot in the world; however it does show interesting behaviour, and if there was some other indicator of the wind, like blured flapping plant stems, horizontal rain streaks or similar it would work very well. good catchlight and eye contact.
I was photographing one of these at Snettisham and a woman asked me what it was, I said "Grey Plover" and her reply was "Oh do they like grapes then?"
Lee, yes it is leaning against the block - even in this 'sheltered' spot gusts of wind buffeted the bird as it tried to sleep. In the end it resorted to getting as close to the block as possible for stability.

Is the bird leaning against the concrete block?
