This is the shot I had in mind when we scheduled our trip to Moab. The full moon was scheduled for the last night of our stay so with the help of a friend I made it to this spot and located the position where the moon would rise over the LaSal mountains. Included the famous Balanced Rock in the scene and added some foreground elements too. Thanks for looking. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Hey Wayne, Great capture. It was well worth your effort to make the trip. I like the diversity of foreground elements showing a good size relationship and adding texture to the shot. It's a keeper in my book.
Wayne - A beautiful comp. I love the interplay of colors and light, fore and background elements. A keeper for sure. Careful planning and preparation really make a difference. Your efforts really paid off.
Great shot, Wayne, glad you got the shot that you had in mind. I still have this area on my list to do. Any suggestions when it may be the least crowded?
Those are some beautiful mountains in the background, especially with a little snow.
I think I would like this better if there weren't so many prominent features that cause me to wonder what the main subject is, but the scene is a beautiful one overall.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments. Being there trying to do justice to this scene on my last night was a good way to end my vacation.
Bill you make an interesting point about the main subject here. I always try to incorporate the aspects of good technical composition when I frame a shot but in this case having achieved that (I think) I do see now where the bush has equal emphasis in the frame and therefore commands its share of attention.
For this shot the moonrise framed with Balanced Rock was the intended subject. This might have been stronger without the bush at left.
