For the few (of us) Nikon shooters on this forum B&H now offers the best DSLR made()for $7350. You first, Mark H.

I think they're just getting started. Another $2500 and I'd be tempted.

I'll start thinking of biting when it hits $6250.

My D2x still works great for what I do. Thom Hogan said the D2x is the only Nikon that can compete with the newer models(especially at lower ISO's). I'll wait a couple of years and see what happens.

I think Thom said something to the effect that the D2Xs is still the best 12MP camera at base ISO....and based on my somewhat limited experience I would agree. The problem I'm starting to see is that since the 21 and 24 MP cameras are now out there the stock agencies are wanting to see those larger files. Still out of my price range though.

Resolution will always be a concern for those wanting the best but at what point does the pixel become too small to capture light when placed on a 35mm dslr....I dont claim to know much about the technology behind all this but they keep saying that the smaller the pixel the less light it collects therefore the less data it can capture....

do any of you think they will start putting larger sensors in the full frame DSLRs I know that would mean a new line of lenses but my guess would be that a 40mm sensor at about 35mp would be pretty sweet!!!!!

any thoughts on this.....

Also, I would like to think that Nikon will be coming out with something to match the 5D MK II in the near future....I just don't think the D700 even holds a candle to that new 5D
