Chequered skipper
Sorry for not being around much lately and commenting the pictures. This UKNP is so productive you almost have to take the whole day to look and comment.

This one of a Chequered skipper on a Dandelion I shot during our last trip with the photoclub.
Hope you like it. C&C welcome. Thanks.

Now that brings back memories !!
I was maybe one of the last people to see one of these in England . I was warden at castor hanglands which was the only place they were found in the 70 ,s
They went extinct soon after that, and now only occur in Scotland I think.
Good one.
Cheers

Hello John, I'm sorry to hear that. As far as I know they are rather common over here. So if you ever come to Holland, take your chance.
Thanks for looking.

A very nice and sharp image, Tom. However I think it is a bit tight in the frame. A bit more space would (in my opinion) certainly be benefitting.

a little tight in the frame perhaps but still a nice image Tom, nicely taken.

Wonderful detail in the head section and a lovely species.
I would have preferred it to be a tad less tight and perhaps shot at eye level.

Greetings,
