Started hosting my 1:1 Kingfisher workshops again today and the first results look promising. Last years nesting site is not being used this year but fortunately there was another nesting site nearby wich is in use by a lovely couple with the male looking very much like last year's male but i am not 100% sure it's him yet. Glad they survived last winter anyway and hope i will be shooting some nice images of these gems in the next few weeks.
Here's the male just before coughing up a "fishball" today...
Nothing fancy yet but i am sure i will get something special from these little lightning birdies this season again..

It must be great to observe and photograph this beautiful birds. I really envy you. Very nice shot and I love the open beak. I look forward to seeing some more.
My Apple Mac screen has a calibration of 2.2 whilst most PC screens have a contrast value of 1.8 wich makes them recognize less contrast and lighter tones. My old Mac was set to 2.0 to compensate a little for this but i have kept my new Mac at 2.2.
Perhaps it looks better on your screens like this:
Now then, on the screen cal subject matey, it's a funny thing but you last series of posts all look fine to me - just this one still looks a bit 'wishy-washy' and lacking in the usual J.Stel Esquire VIBRANCY department.

BTW you got it the wrong way round Macs used to be 1.8 and PC 2.2 but you are quite correct that these days both should be set up the same...
All the best
