Best Way to sell high quality Prints Online?

I have had a number of inquiries from people wishing to purchase prints. Usually they are looking for 11" or bigger and would be expecting a very high quality image. I don't have the time to order prints from a place like West Coast imaging and then send them on to a customer, plus all the processing etc that would be ivloved.

Do any of the online servces that act as middleman and accept and print the order specialize in high end prints?

Any suggestions as best way to set something up? I do not wish to sell an item unless the quality is great.

Peter, I know I had spoke with Mark Hudon many many months ago about printing larger images. He at one time was printing for people, I do not know about shipping direct from his place though. He was very reasonably priced. You might check with him - he does outstanding work and has printed for many in the PNW especially. MPix also gets mentioned alot on here as well, I do not know if they ship direct either. Personally, I'd want to see a final print of the product being shipped to check for color accuracy before having a place ship direct, at least initially to see what they were all about. Just my cent worth!

I've used MPIX for several years and have never had a complaint. They ship direct to your customer, very quick service. They also offer framed prints with a dozen or so frame options..even non-glare glass if that's your fancy ;)
I highly recommend them.

I've recently switched to SmugMug Pro service. They take the order via my site, process credit cards, print and ship the order direct to the customer. They offer glossy, luster, metallic, watercolor and canvas prints as well as numerous other products that are geared towards portrait and event photographers. Another great aspect of SmugMug is that their customer service is amazing, and the development team is very helpful and active on their forums. Cost for the Pro service is $149.95 a year but there are coupons for half-off your first year. You set your own prices and you keep 85% of the profit from the sale.

I'll be using them for order fulfillment for all my open-edition prints. I will continue to process, print and ship all my limited-edition print sales.

Let me know if you have any questions. :wavey:

Peter, I do this all the time. Check out WHCC.com. Their quality is terrific, the prices are reasonable and they are very efficient.
