Wheatear
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/500s, f6.3, iso 200

Taken from car, between torrential rainshowers. Low evening sun created dramatic side-lighting. Not the textbook conditions, but I like the effect on the grass and heather. I cloned out a bit of flare on a blade of grass caused by a raindrop catching the sun. Critique is appreciated as always.

Ian

I really like this image and IMHO the mush enhances the capture. good use of the the prevailing light.

Lovely capture Ian, very intimate thanks to the ground-level shooting position.

Cheers,

Great shot. The only nit I do have is the grass in de FG making the bird a little blurry.

Beautiful shot, Ian. Nice pov and beautiful light. I like the blurry fg very much. It just gives the picture something special.

Lovely shot, I had a great time trying to photograph one of these on hol..

Beautiful light and love the background and foreground, sets the bird off nicely, excellent pov. Lovely colour and detail too. Great work!

Unlike your other shots, this one doesn't do it for me. Also due to compression, both the in small & large image, that brown background's just a mess. Perhaps compressing less would do it better justice.

I like it, it adds focus to the bird and the dark bg is nice
