I shot this tonight from my balcony looking north here in Colorado Springs. I wish I was in a more rustic/nature-oriented place, but what can I do? Thanks for looking.

This shot was taken 15 or so minutes before the above image.

"Hello, CSPD? There's some guy trying to take pictures into my bedroom window. Can you come taser him for me?"

That first one is very cool. Good catch.

Todd,

Too funny...there was actually a girl riding her bike up and down my street while I was taking these, and she kept giving me awkward looks. Maybe I need to make a sign or something. Thanks for looking.

You mean, a sign that reads "SHOW ME YOUR T***!"?

We had a pretty interesting display in Divide. I wasn't out watching the lightning but it shutdown my computers several times. Then a brilliant rainbow formed in front of Pike's Peak while the clouds glowed orange. Of course CAZ had me captive on the phone! But my alert son (budding photog) hurried out to the deck to take these. Believe me the color cast is correct, it was like being inside a balloon.

One more...

Yeah, there were nickel size hail reports from the Divide storm. Hopefully well get some more storms from the front coming in Thursday-Fri, though it looks a bit too stable for serious lightning. My annual storm chase is not looking good at this point, a monsoonal pattern is already setting up and its only May! :frown:

That first shot is really cool. It looks a bit like something from a sci-fi movie. Did you use a lightning trigger or was this just good timing?

Kalin,

Nice shots...I was really wondering what things were looking like up your way. From down here the sky was literally glowing in your direction. Pretty sweet.

Stan,

What are your predictions then for this summer in terms of moisture, temps, etc.?

Paul,

Just lucky timing...I think this was an 8 second exposure, probably the tenth one. My sensor got a little hot!

Nice capture of the pending storm - I can smell the rain!

Really like those clouds. Great job in capturing the lightning.
