Meadow Pipit
Hi all,

Bet you are all pleased it's not more hares  This little one was very obliging and allowed me to take several frames. Am a little unsure about the comp though, is it too central?

40D, 300mm +1.4 t/c,ISO 500,f7.1,1/1000.

Hi Fran

The composition is fine - pose, detail BG and DOF are great!

Composition looks fine to me. The background is certainly very clean. Usually it works well, but sometimes I think it can look just a little too stark. Maybe a more natural perch would have offset that effect.

Bird and perch are fine for me... thats how they often perch at this location, the green field behind always gives that great clean bg...

Thanks everyone, and thanks Phil.

As Phil says this is a regular perch for these birds, and the field behind provides a great b/g. It is not possible to provide any other perch at this location, and therefore I had to be grateful and make the most of the opportunity at the time.

It is exactly the sort of perch that these birds use. It is a nice, clean image and for me the composition works well.
