Blue Jay in our backyard, El Dorado, AR. Time was around 6:30 p.m. so it required flash fill to bring out the detail. Flash is mounted on a Wimberley extension.
40D, 700mm, f5.6, 1/80s, ISO 640, flash EC -1.7

Very natural image. Did he turn sideways on command so everything could be in focus?

As Ed says, very nice image Daniel. I can't get my jays to sit still long enough to capture them, really skittish birds.

Larry - Sometimes I just get lucky! This capture was a rare moment of stillness for this very active bird.

Good job on a common bird that proves to be a tough model to get to cooperate!
