1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/320s, f4, iso 400. Setting sun. Soft-cloned out distracting reed in background.
Occasionally these come out into the open, but I was lucky he did during a brief lull in the wind. All comments, positive and negative are much appreciated.
Hi Ian, I really like this one, having tried to get shots of these myself its really difficult to get a shot when their isn't reed crossing some part of the little blighters!
The cloning has been done well unless its right behind the beak which looks a little suspect
Well spotted! I've gone back to the original - it's the little irregular bit just above the beak that is wrong. By the way I also desaturated the whole thing a little as the evening light made it vey intense. I have loads of similar ones and will probably use another without cloning.
I like this "as is"I never seem to get mine in full plumage- the heads are always speckled.
Nice shot and nice to see some surround too.( And as i always say - the sods never open their beaks for me !!!)
Cheers
John
Nice... as said a little bit of a shame about the cloning, it is always difficult deciding whether to do it or not... at the moment as I am working with WPOTY I am in the not crowd.....
