Taken up in Scotland last week before the sun came out (only one days rain for the whole trip but I was glad of it for this image). This is pretty much full frame so I had little room to manoeuvre as regards composition. I have just lifted the levels applied light NR and sharpened slightly.
Very lucky Simon, spent too long chasing this bird last month in Scotland, great image especially with the rain in the BG. The water droplet on the beak, spot on.
Hello Simon, great shot. Lot of sharpnes a and details in de bird although you used ISO 1600.
@Ian,
You can try shooting them during rain or just after the rain. Because there are wet then they will not fly away that quick as they would when they are dry. I takes more energy for them to fly away when they are wet, they are heavier then. I can approach them then within 10 metres or sometimes even less than that. Good luck.
Agree with David that it's perhaps a little tight in the frame, but for web purposes this isn't such a bad thing.
Young buzzards are sometimes a lot less likely to take off when they see people close to them than the older ones.

I really like this one - very very minor nit perhaps a little tight in the frame!
