I'll mostly be around the house, especially Sunday, when I'll be watching the Indy 500 followed by the NASCAR Coca Cola 600. If there's some cool weather, I might try a sunrise or two. How 'bout y'all?

Thinking of heading up to Estes to see what I can shoot, and wanna see Erik and his prints at the Art Show in Estes.

I'll be in the area of Red Feather Lakes with some friends on Saturday. Hope to swing over to the Nokhu Crags. No other plans for the weekend.

I was supposed to be on the tail end of a 10-day trip through southern Utah and northern Arizona, but it didn't seem to be a good idea to be in canyon country with the threat of rain. Now I'll be prepping prints for a local bed & breakfast and gift shop, spending a day shooting in and around Santa Fe, assembling submission packages and adding images to my website. I'm sure I'll also find some time to take care of the "honey-do" list.

I'll be in the Moab area with CAZ and Bret.

I've got an artist's reception on Saturday for a month long show in a Pagosa Springs gallery (Artisans of the Southwest). After that I hope to do some shooting locally and find some time to check out the new Terminator flick!

Entertaining visiting family and hoping to at least get some hiking or something in!
Posted by CAZ on May 22, 2009 at 6:44 AM
I'll be meeting up with John Mumaw and Officer Edge for a Friday night shoot in Moab, then heading down to Cedar Mesa for a couple of days, then maybe to Page, then definitely to the North Rim (including Toroweap) for a couple of days, then up to Zion for 4 more days. And the whole time I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for beautiful but rainless clouds!

A big box of parts arrived yesterday, so I'll be building a new computer this weekend (it'll be nice to be able to process and post images again), and since we're so close, a trip to RMNP is on our list. Also, lots of chores:frown:

Should be shooting my daughter's soccer game tomorrow, then my son's third birthday, and taking mom-in-law to GoG and Pikes Peak Cog Railway on Sunday. However, if the weekend is anything like today, I'll probably end up laying in bed coughing and blowing my nose.

I get to have non-stop fun and excitement repairing various portions of my house! Oh joy! Might break away to Santa Fe so I can go spend some money at REI.

I'm painting my house this weekend. I got almost all of the body of the house painted last weekend with some help from my family and need to paint the trim. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend so I can get back to my regularly scheduled backpacking. I had been planning to do the Lost Creek Wilderness loop this weekend.

Printing and framing an image for a cousin's wedding present. Enjoying the Bacon/Murphy girls soccer smack-down.  Hopefully sneaking off for some shooting on Sunday. Running 10K with the masses at the Bolder Boulder on Monday. And most importantly... Thinking about and giving thanks for those that have sacrificed their lives so that I, and my children, can live and prosper in freedom!

I'm torn between NASCAR, Indy 500 and going to RMNP

Good perspective Mr. Bacon!

I hope to do a little hiking in CNM with the cactus blooms and lizards...oh, and the fam too.
We swore off going anywhere away from home on Mem. weekend after a couple of disastrous outings a few years back.

The family and I will be heading to GSD for our first time. Hopefully, the creek is still running... I promised the dogs some play time.

I was supposed to go camping with Igloo Ed (tent Ed this time) for the weekend but I have a tendency to injur myself and kill my plans. This time I grabbed a handle of a pan that just got out of a 400 degree oven! The inside of my right hand is a massive painful blister. And since I have to keep it clean, camping with no sanitation is out of the question :frown:

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I can't wait to see your images!

Well...I'd really like to be in Moab and Cedar Mesa with John "The Poacher" Mumaw, CAZ, and Officer Bret but I'm going to have to settle for my own backyard---Fish Creek Falls (running at maximum), springtime on Muddy Pass, hiking the Mad Creek Trail, and a drive up to Hahns Peak just to check it out. Oh...maybe a round of golf and a few honey do's and probably drop by the Yampa River Festival for some white water kayak action pics.

I am headed to Wyoming, going to do some shooting in the Medicine Bow National Forest. I also may try and get some stuff from the Zirkel Wilderness Area.

I'm going to the Colorado Territory Days in Old Colorado City with a friend. We will be camping over on Sat night.

You referring to my culinary skills, Rod?

We have 7 parties to attend and I also plan to become familiar with my new girlfriend Orbea. She has been badly neglected over the past few weeks due to travel and work.

I get the luxury of upgrading a few web and dns servers for work on Saturday. :frown: Then I plan to do some offroading on Sunday and finally head to Estes Park on Monday - still trying to throw some camping with the housemate in there somewhere, too.

Arrived in Estes Park around 6:00 am yesterday; heading to Greeley to visit a friend and his wife on Saturday, and then heading home on Sunday. Stopped in and said hello to Erik. Spent about seven hours (somewhere before 5:00 am until noon playing in Erik's backyard today. Spent about three playing yesterday.

Like John sitting here waiting, waiting, and waiting for our grandchild to be born any day now.
After she's born I'll be heading for GTNP and YNP. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

I got out this morning and shot a bit along 285. A valley in the Pine Junction area had some low lying clouds in the morning and then drove up near Kenosha Pass to check out the aspen leafing out. I need to work on my website as well, then watch some playoff hockey and B-ball. Go Nuggs!

I'll be in an Art Show in the center of Estes Park with a lot of other photographers. Let's hope the weather cooperates. Stop by and feed the monkey if you are in town.

Unfortunately, I have to stay close to home. We're finishing a Kitchen remodel and I will try to put in my garden if it doesn't rain too much.

I am thinking Mt Evans maybe tomorrow, we'll see, possibly though RMNP now that Trailridge is open
Posted by Mel Ladewig on May 24, 2009 at 8:58 AM
Hey Stan. Work a little clear weather into the forecast would ya? This rain and fog is totally screwing up my painting schedule. I only got to work for about 3 hours yesterday before the lighting chased me off the ladders.

Unlike 500,000 racing fans, i got the hell OUT of Indy this weekend. I live about 20 minutes from the track and hate the crowds this time of year so i visited family in Cincinnati.
