Yesterday I was given a conditional offer of employment to be the Executive Director of a 911 center in Snohomish County, Wa. I haven't agreed to an employment contract yet, and I have to get through the background, but I expect it will all work out. It's going to be quite the experience as it is one of the largest 911 centers in the state (about the same size as the Portland 911 center, 112 employees).
Photographically, I'm looking forward to exploring new areas in the North Cascades and around Puget Sound, neither of which I've spent much time around. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet up with some of the forum members up in that area.
Personally, I've had a great time meeting and spending time on the photographic trail with several of you on this forum from Oregon and southwestern Washington. It's not like I'll be off the forum, but during my transition and move, I won't be online too much and probably won't be out taking photos as we get our house ready to move.
I thought I'd share my appreciations now since I'm going to be crazy busy for the next few months.
Very cool congrats. The area is really growing I just up the street in Marysville, would be more than happy to show you some pretty fun places to shoot.
Congratulations! I think you'll find lots of good subjects up here as well.
Which, by the way, raises an interesting question: what is the percentage of Washington to Oregon photographers on this site? I've been getting the impression that just about everyone (with a couple of exceptions at most) is based in Oregon.
As a resident (and County employee), welcome to the area! I think you'll find the location to be perfectly equidistant to so many fabulous locations for shooting.
Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to connecting with photographers in the area after my family gets settled up there. I suspect I'll be up there before the end of summer.
Congratulations on the new job and welcome to the Northern Section of the great Pacific Northwest! Ryan I look forward to spending some quality camera time with ya! up here!

Our loss is their gain. Congrats and keep up the good work!
