Very active little Carolina Chickadee perched on a Rose of Sharon in our backyard in El Dorado. It has continued rainy and overcast most of the weekend, so I have concentrated on shooting in our backyard.
40D, 500mm, f/4, 1/500s, ISO 400, flash-fill, cropped to vertical. I cloned out some branches and leaves, but left the larger ones alone.
Very crisp! They don't stay still very long and they are so fast. Great capture! That's about as small as a target that you can find, except hummingbirds. I haven't very happy with my chickadee pics. But, I keep trying! That's what backyards are good for!

Very nice Daniel. Is there a difference between a Carolina Chickadee and a Black-capped Chickadee?
The easiest way to tell the difference is by location. North MO and up is Black capped, South MO down is Carolina. By the map they don't overlap except in the east. There are even Hybrids in some areas.
