Castle Rock Sunset
This past Thursday I took a trip out to the area around Scott City (where I was born) to photograph Castle Rock and Monument Rock. It was great to see that part of Kansas again, I had forgotten how beautiful it was. Couldn't have asked for better wildflowers. It was fantastic trip.

This is a shot of Castle Rock taken the evening of the 21st.

Canon 40D, Canon 10-22 @ 10mm, f22, 1/13, ISO 400. Raw file processed multiple times and combined using Enfuse via Lightroom.

You're right Scott, Western Kansas has some beautiful spots. You did a great job showing this one. I think the blending looks pretty natural overall. I like the way the Prince's Plume looks like it is lit by the last light of sun. I didn't think it would be blooming this early.

I had planned on stopping here a couple of weeks ago on the way back home from monument rocks but missed the turn off. (I left my map at home :frown:)

I really like your low perspective - makes those lovely wildflowers stand out. Nice work.

The light on the flowers is great; the sun seems overwhelming to me; nice job getting low for the perspective

So much of Kansas to explore and in my case, so little time. Thanks for expanding my horizon with this teaser Scott.
