I have a wierd fascination/fixation lately for various types of tree bark. I find it challenging to discover interesting compositions of lines, shapes and color. In some ways I enjoy this type of photography more than I do the landscape variety, although this stuff doesn't seem to pay very well or have much general appeal but that's O.K. as I do it for myself.

Oh, now there you go again! I know that tree… and this is a splendid comp you pulled out of it. You really do have an eye for design in tree bark, Mark. Perhaps in other Nature subjects as well? Or architecture?
While they are probably not photos I would take (today, who knows about tomorrow ), I've really been enjoying these bark shots. The color and lines in this are a real winner. Nice one.
