We're planning a short trip to the Tetons and I'd like to time it for flower season, especially Lupines. Also, any thoughts on good locations for flowers would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Lupine usually peak early to mid June in the Tetons. The other flowers usually peak mid to late June. Check out the pond about a 1/4 mile east on the Pilgrim Creek road at sunrise for incredible lupine (during a good year). For "other flowers", Antelope Flats is usually great if you time it right. Also browse around on some of the other side roads that the tourists aren't driving on (may need 4WD). You may be surprised at what you'll find.

I would assume that Antelope Flats would be good for Arrowhead Balsam this year with all the moisture. Last year the shooting was good along the Gros Ventre Rd as it was loaded with Balsam root etc and the Buffalo and Pronghorn were hanging in there. As suggested above the lupine are really good off of Pilgrim creek road at sunrise. I would think in the next week or so things should start coming out. Hopefully I'll be up there next week.

The area around Two Ocean Lake is packed with wildflowers. This is one of my personal favorites because there are entire hillsides of just flowers and aspen, and it is well off the beaten path and you'll have it to yourself. Have a great time, Paul - I'm envious!

Paul,

Have you headed there yet? I am leaving day after tomorrow and just wondering how things are shaping up.

Thanks,
Carl
