Two Geese
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/800s, f6.4, iso 320. Just after sunrise with clearing mist, lying on gravel, downhill, crick in neck, with tripod legs spread in water.

The geese nest on the island and seem to like the same flight path, as there are only a couple of entry points between the trees. I wanted to get them with a reasonably clear background, yet still show the environment. Comments and critique valued as always.

Really nice shot - great atmosphere. Maybe it needs a slight rotation?

I like that image as well, my only nit is that I think it needs a wee bit of clockwise rotation.

Great image Ian, do I recognize the background from another one of your images?

Thanks All!

Billy, Tom

I think it needs a wee bit of clockwise rotation.

I can't make my mind up. The line of mist isn't necessarly level. There isn't a crisp reflection on which I can use the measure tool accurately (I tried). What matters is what people say, so I will try it later. Many thanks.

Liam

Indeed you do - I've spent many happy hours there. In fact, I've spent most summer weekends there for over a decade now. One of the most beautiful locations imaginable.

a lovely shot Ian, very nice indeed. It also looks to me as though it needs a bit of rotation.

Hello Ian.

Lovely image in a great setting. The geese couldn't be better placed.
